By defintion, self care is about carring about yourself to make you feel good. That´s the reason why self care is for everyone, just the way it is performed differs. And it´s no one-way street! When you practice self-care, you are not only helping yourselves, but also help others as well.
And don´t think you are too busy to find the time to take proper care of yourself. If you really think this way, you absolutely need a self care day in your life! Yes, it can be hard to schedule but it´s worth it.
While it´s good to have goals, dreams and wanting to achieve things in life, overdoing is just as damaging as procrastination.

9 Tips and ideas for self care activities and routines
All the following ideas may sound very common and randoom, but as long as you do not implement some of them in your life, you won´t feel better. You can try a few of them and make a self care planner or a self care checklist for yourself. Whatever feels good and makes you happy is the right thing to do.
Practise mindfulness – That will help you not only by calming you down but allow you to get a deeper look into you personality and what your inner you is considering good for your wellbeing.
Meditation – Certainly an obvious choice but it has a reason why so many happy people practise meditation. The calming effect will bring you down to earth again making challenges far less difficult. You can start with 10 minutes a day like this one here –
Give your diet a boost and treat yourself sometimes. The joy of trying a new dish or reducing the calories, is not only benefital for your health but for your psyche as well.
Visit a spa, a sauna or the beach. Whatever is easily accessable from where you are. All these places are fantastic stress reliefers and support you in the relaxation process.
Get out and spend time in nature, preferably when the sun is shining. When we feel connected to nature again, all troubles and worries are suddenly far smaller than they appeared a few minutes ago.
Start to exercise. No, no gym membership and a daily 4 hour workout. A short run or a few minutes of yoga could be a perfect start. When it feels good, increase the time whenever you like.
Write a journal to boost your mood. Make it a habit to jot down the positive things that happened to you that day. It will remind you of the positive things in life.You can call it „mental self care“ because the mind needs care as well.
Get yourself a feel-good video or song. What do you you enjoy watching or listening to? In case of a bad day, watch some pre-prepared videos that lift up you mood. Don´t go to sleep angry or anxious.
Rearrange some things in your life from time to time. That doesn´t mean to leave your significant other but things like to remove clutter from your closet. That goes for mental clutter as well. Ask youself what is holding you back?
If you don´t feel to be ready or not capable of doing even one of the above, go and ask for help. A little chat with a friend or a close person, or even a psychologist can support you to bring you back on track. Don´t hesitate or think you are weak. Mental health is just as crucial as physical health.
